Award: Finalist in prestigious Women in AI awards

Women in AI (WAI) is a global network of female experts and professionals in the field of Artificial Intelligence working towards gender-inclusive AI that benefits a global society.

Their mission is to close the gender gap in the field by educating the next generation of female leaders in AI and to increase female representation and participation in AI.

Committed to supporting and rewarding excellence to women working in AI, the prestigious WAI Awards aim to give recognition and build the credibility and exposure for women in AI in Australia and New Zealand.

Bonnie was recognised as a finalist for her innovative work at Place Intelligence, for her high impact career working at the nexus of advanced technology and impact, and for her consistent dedication to building high performance teams that prioritise diversity of background, gender and perspective.

Bonnie was one of three finalists in the AI in Infrastructure category which included work in transportation, energy and water services, telecommunications, waste management and smart cities.

The category award was taken out by industry powerhouse, Distinguished Professor Fang Chen, Executive Director of Data Science at the Sydney University of Technology.

The top honours of the night were awarded to:

Jamila Gordon, Chief Executive Officer and Founder of Lumachain, a logistics startup delivering greater assurance in supply chain management.

Dr Michelle Perugini, Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder of Presagen, a medical startup using machine vision in fertility treatments.

Fiona Turner, Co-Founder & Chief Executive Officer at Bitwise Agronomy, a startup leveraging AI for increased yields in agriculture.
